Tax Rebate

Options
Hi Guys n Gals,

I have just received a £6.6K tax rebate which is excellent as this will pay my wife and my BR fees. (i trust this is allowed).

Now im aware I cant spend this money as such but the car is due for an MOT next week and it is being done by a family member who has looked over the car (pre mot check senario) and it is going to take a fair few £100 to get it through.

Could we use this money to do it as the vehicle is vital for me to get to work.

Our baby also needs winter clothes etc (im not talking about a spending spree, we arent like that....but just buying what he needs)

would this be allowed?

thanks peeps

  • Essential outgoings are acceptable...ie car, clothes etc. Keep all reciepts in case you are asked for them though.

I sold a car to pay my fees & that was fine....was never asked about it either.
  • many thanks for your help, thats good to know. he doesnt even have basic stuff at the moment and I didnt think a OR would be so calous as to deny him that.

    ps

    SS Angel..........sleep lol
