Boots no7 tinted moisturiser or clinique almost make up

As alternative to the clinique gentle light make up now discontinued, the clinique assistant has recommended almost make up as an alternative. It looks ok but am just wondering if the no7 tinted moisturiser is just as good for half the price. Can anyone compare?

  • Well, as everyone (and their skin) is different, I imagine you'd have to buy the Boots product & try it. (Sorry, that sounded a bit facetious, didn't mean to be!) One little tip from a friend of mine from years ago; if you want to test out a product without jumping in and buying it, tell the assistant that you have terribly sensitive skin (and often get dermatitis) and can you have a sample to check that you won't react to it adversely. My friend actually did have eczema so it wasn't a lie, but it was a great way of getting lots of little tester pots and sachets from some very expensive ranges!!!
  • Hi, thanks for your reply. Only thing is Clnique will not give samples, I've asked them before and all they will do is try stuff on your face there and then but refuse to give out samples.

The no7 tinted moisturiser is amazing for it's price. I used it loads in the summer, and so cheap if you get a £5 off voucher or anything like that. I would definitely recommend it - Or! try the topshop tinted moisturiser too, its better than no7, but not as good as Laura Mercier *IMO*

Depends on the coverage you want, I found the No 7 one a bit thin but my mil loved it, I liked the Nivea tinted moisturiser, it was quite matte with a bit more coverage and lasted through the day, of course you could always buy a regular foundation that you like and mix with your usual moisturiser then you could customise each day and have a regular foundation all for the price of one product, very mse:money:
Thank you for this site Martin

clinique better lasting. tinted moisturizer compared to gentle light would be much too sheer with not much coverage. i use benefit tinted moisturizer in day times sometimes but wouldnt replace it over a proper foundation

Agreed. After using lots of cheaper and more expesive foundations, No.7 tinted moisturiser wins hands down. It is slightly thicker than a moisuriser and is more like foundation imo. I will have to give the Topshop one a go.
