Makro

Options
I started an earlier thread re mountain bikes and people mentioned Makro. I would like to find out some more info re Makro but don't think that my mountain bike post was the right place.
Questions, questions:
Are you allowed to buy things at Makro with a day pass?
Do you have to be a business owner to get a day pass?
Do you have to be applying for a full pass in order to obtain a day pass?
Why doesn't everyone just get a day pass?
Do you need lots of id to get a day pass?
Thankyou in advance
Rob

when you apply for a day pass , they will try to get you to become a full member(which is free ....... unlike costco )
You usually have to be some sort of a business - but you can be "self employed" or a sole trader. i think if you work for the likes of the police, royal mail ,nursing etc you can also apply but not enitrely sure of that !
With a day pass you can buy just about everything except alcohol and televisions
With a day pass you are not allowed to pay by credit card either.

IMO costco is much better than Makro in quality of items that they stock and usually price too.

have a look at their website for membership conditions

    Hi

I'm going to move this over to the Anything Else board as I think it's better suited there

I had a couple of friends who have brought bikes form makro and the Qulaity was quite poor, this was a few years ago, so hopefully they have sorted it

Makro can sometime be quite tough on getting in, i have been before and my mate had his card taken :( fair enough we where young, but that is a bit drastic
  • I think Sterling House do cheap bikes,
watch out though, once they have your address you get sent flyers frequently. i dont mind them as sometimes you get a real bargain come up. Not just bikes.
