The Loan Company - Help!

I noticed a debit card payment of £61.50 from my account which I reported to my bank as fraud as it meant nothing to me. The Halifax fraud team have got back to me and insist I must have actioned this payment and this compnay take a fee to organise a loan.

Well I certainly would not give a fee to organise a loan and on doing research it seems many people have had issues with this company taking fees.

The problem is the Halifax wont do anything and when you ring the number for the Loan Company its just a recorded message and they wont reply to my emails....

I really cannot afford to loose the 61.50.

Did you give a loan company your bank details?
  • Not that I am aware.

If you gave them your details then expect them to take more hilarious payments.

If you didn't and you're sure you didn't then it's fraud or theft.

  • Fraudsters don't normally use your details to pay a fee to source a loan.

Have you checked your account to see if there are any smaller debits going to the same company. If so the bank will see this as a dispute.

In the majority of cases it is the customer who has given their bank details to the company and that is why the bank directs them back to the loan company in question.

If you are certain you haven't applied for any loans then call the bank back and insist that you have no knowledge of this company. You may be refunded.
