Nationwide Morgage Payment Holiday

Hi all wondering if anyone can help?
I have taken a morgage payment on my nationwide morgage before as a small stop gap solution which worked well at the time.
I've just tried to do the same via the phone helpline only to be told that they have tightened up the process and that unless i give them a reason that corresponds to what they have on their acceptable reason list you are refused and they dont go through any further or do any credit scoring etc etc.
So just wondering if anyone knows what is an acceptable reason?

I guess the real question is what is your reason? You must think it's reasonable?
I would guess reasons such as loss of job, temporary cash flow problem (but one that will be fixed) are good reasons. But then again, you might want to be wary of telling the Nationwide that you're running out of money when you owe them thousands. Though having said that, they are about the most reasonable bank I've dealt with.0 -
Just tell them the truth about why you want it and go over to Debt Free Wannabee for help on budgeting in order to build up savings. Authorised arrears should always be seen as a last resort.0

To you and I they might be good reasons, to a mortgage lender they are reasons to refuse to give a payment holiday.0 -
