Manchester cheap parking

Hi,
I hope someone can help! I need to find a cheap (ie not NCP and the like) car park in Manchester centre, near to the Oxford Road/university area.
I know there is a cheap car park on the old Boddingtons site, and a few others very near to that area, but ideally I would like to find one closer to the university. I will be commuting in several times a week but walking accross town (which I don't actually mind doing!) is not ideal due to the time I need to be back home in the evening.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
( I have posted this on another thread too)

Do not park near Boddingtons unless you want your car broken into. It is not safe and besides, mostly, they charge in that are now. I think the best way is to park outside of the city centre and get a train Oxford Road train station. Depending on which end of the city you are coming from will depend on which train station you choose. That would be my view. There might be parking out of the city, but again, I dont think the uni side of town is the safest.0

Check this site out, you can choose what times and dates you need to park and then arrange it in price order:

Lots of commuters and university goers park on street in the Hulme area. There was talk of a parking permit scheme but not heard of anything yet (I moved a few months ago).
Be sensible with security and it should be no worse than other parts of the city centre.I spend less than I earn and if I can't afford it I don't buy it. I'm guessing that makes me a money saver.0 -
There's a multi-storey carpark on Charles Street near Manchater University North Campus which is reasonably priced.0
