Fri 17th September - what small DFW things will you do today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

  • Hi everyone

Phew, Friday! Hooray!! I am really looking forward to the weekend. Work has been such hard work for me this week - mainly because I'm in the middle of two projects so not got a lot going on. And because I've got so much going on at home with the flat and the wedding prep I'm really begrudging going there every day.

I hope that everyone is well and that some new posters join in with us

    My listypops:
    - Play with my Kindle :D Going to download some free books and lots of samples of other ones while I'm deciding
    - Pennies in the jar
    - Walk to work - I really can't believe I never used to think twice about getting the bus  It seriously takes as long as walking and £1.30 there and back every day/every other day!
    - Contemplate walking up the 8 flights of stairs for free exercise
    - Pay ebay win on behalf of DM
    - Check banking/cc
    - Sort something for tea - not takeaway
    - Knit some more blanket
    - Sort out what we need for the fish and fish tank:o
    - Get ready for trip to the beach tomorrow - hat, gloves and scarf methinks!:D

    Happy Friday everyone!!

    Morning All
I'm going to miss the speed of this broadband when I return to Africa :( I go and make a cup of tea while a page loads over there, despite the computer being newer :rotfl:

    So today I have/will
    • washing on the line after washing at 30
    • take some apples to my aged P's
    • drive fuel economically, and use my Dart Tag to save £1 today :D
    • check banking - looking healthy now :D
    • fingers crossed for DS2's results to come today, he's been waiting some time and it is hugely stressful  (for me as well as him :rotfl:)
    • Had chip in windscreen repaired yesterday for free :D
Have a great day everybody :A
  • Good morning everyone and thanks for starting the thread La E.

One of my chickens, Pandora, is having egg production problems (a massive egg on Wednesday followed by an egg with no shell a few hours later and another yesterday). I'm keeping an eye on her for a couple of days and if it's not back to normal by Monday it will mean a visit to the vet. Not very DFW, but I don't want her to suffer if she's not well.

    So far today I have:
    • run DW overnight on Economy 7
    • run WM overnight on Economy 7
    • fed and watered the chickens
    • prepared lunch to take to work
    • taken dinner out of the freezer
    • checked banking - no change :(
    • checked for surveys - screened out yet again :(
    I will also:
    • fill bike with petrol - only £8 for two weeks :D
    • deliver box of eggs to customer and get paid
    • go to library to see if they have a book about making soap - it's on my 101 things list
    • make a savings chart so I can see progress before my very eyes
    • meals from mealplan/stores
As it won't be an NSD I think I may even treat myself to an apple doughnut - well, it is Friday after all......
