weekly planner

Howdy, I am in a bit of a pickle. Most of my bills are paid by monthly direct debit and I get paid weekly. I am trying to gain a hold on my outgoings and could use a spreadsheet or some other monitoring tool to calculate how much I need to budget on a weekly basis.

All help greatly appreciated

Using a spreadsheet would be simple enough, just remember to times the monthly payment by 12 and divide by 52 (*12/52). Also make a note of the date that each payment leaves your account.

I've been paid weekly for the last year and am soon swapping to monthly pay which I actually prefer, it makes it far easier to budget.

    Hope that helps xx

Darwins_mum, I too get paid weekly and pay all bills monthly.

I use a spreadsheet which is so simple but it helps me to remember what's being paid, how much and when - I could send it to you if you pm me your email address.
  • When I got paid weekly, I also had an account for my wages to go into and another account my bills came out of, so i could save money each week towards my monthly bills... much easier to budget when you can see what you have left after budgeting for bills etc.

I used to actually do that a few years ago when I was a little more on top of my finances and it worked quite well. I guess I got a little slap dash which is why I am in the mess I am in now.

Well don't beat yourself up about it, we are all in the same mess :o Maybe it's worth doing it again?
  • I've sent you the spreadsheet you were after Darwin :)
