Patterns for string bags

Does any one have a pattern for knitting their own string bags an what kind of yarn would you use? I was thinking of making them in all sizes and usin them for storage as well as for shopping.

The general advice seems to be to use something non-stretchy, so probably a coton yarn, or possibly even string!0 -
