Music Magpie- Cash for old CD's

Hello everyone

Has anyone used this new website: Music Magpie (sorry can't yet post links)

The idea: You sell your old Cd's DVD's and computer games for cash in batches of 10 to 500! You enter the barcode on the back of each CD/DVD/Game and when completed you either print off the freepost stickers or arrange for them to be sent to you in the post.

Once you have your stickers you put them in a box and send them by freepost. You get a cheque in the post- like mazuma mobile.

The CD's/DVD's/Games have to be in good condition, and with original casing and booklets.

I am tempted to do this, I have a lot of CD's I never listen to and could do with extra cash.

Has anyone done this/ got any info about music magpie???

  • Yes, used it for the last couple of years. Really good service. Ok, so you don't get massive amounts of money for them, but if there's a lot, it can add up (last year, I got £84 and this year £45). My OH just got £115 and about to send off an order for £60ish, but his stuff's a lot rarer. They e-mail you to let you know they've received your parcel, then e-mail you when they send your cheque. Might as well get some money for CD's that are just sat there, not being listened to!!!! :T
  • The site also has a 'freebies' section for links to free samples etc... Also competitions, vouchers and some links on how to make money online.

I haven't looked into these links properly, but they may be useful to some people out there!

that section must be new (unless I just haven't noticed it before)

the Op the site itself isn't new really, and there's a long thread here
    - I've found them good for getting rid of cds I couldn't sell on amazon/get more for elsewhere, other people have had bad experiences with them

    Telling me about the sea..."
  • I was tempted by the site but read this about them when I used Google:

Not so sure now if they don't keep their end of the bargain.
  • They sound well intentioned actually after reading through the plethora of comments, but find it a bit startling that if your sent in CDs/DVDs etc don't meet their standard they bin them! No sale or return basis.

I find I get more per CD/DVD on ebay than Musicmagpie. Mm tend to pay 30-60p per CD, I get £1.50 - £5 on ebay.
    Never Knowingly Understood.
