Hi, just a quick question as Im a tad confused.
My husband is due to leave the marines in 2 years and will get a fairly substantial pay out, however, are the CSA entitled to take any of this as we already pay a large amount to them for his other children???

It WILL be classed as income. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

So theyre entitled to help themselves, regardless? Theyve been nothing but hassle!!!0

i think it might depend how you pay.
my partner pays via deo and they take the same amount each month regardless of how much he earns each month.0 -
He should notify the CSA when he leaves the Marines as this will be a change in his circumstances which he should report ,The payout will not be classed as income. If he owes arrears, and the agency are made aware that he has this lump sum, they may ask him to pay off any outstanding amount owed, but the other parent has no right to any of this money as far as regular maintenance is concerned. His regular maintenece will be reviewed to reflect his new income, whether that is pension or new employment income.0

I think it's a tax free gratuity, so whether that would make a difference - the tax man won't count it as income so surely the CSA shouldn't.0

I just wouldn't tell them about the payout!!! They are that rubbish at organising themselves that unless the other parent says something, they would never know!!!0
