Yet another find off HUKD

This is what you get a 42inch samsung tv and a samsung bd-c5500 next generation blu-ray player. Not a cheap £40 player but a decent one that retails around the £100 mark.
To top it off you get the Marks and Spencer 5year cover. To get this deal add the tv to your basket, then the blu-ray player, follow through to check out where the price is adjusted. Should also get some quidco

The tv also get some good reviews.

You also get a 5 year gurantee, the tv shows up as £549 but discount should be applied at the checkout :)

Theres 2 tvs in the above post?
  • I think the Samsung TV is only HD Ready at 720p (1080i) and not Full HD at 1080p?

Certainly the Spec for the LG one given by the OP says that is only 720p. If buying a new TV I would recommend that you now only look at 1080p sets. Over the next few months, IMO, the HD Ready sets at 720p will be knocked out at much lower prices than these two sets are currently on offer at.

How much difference is there in pic quality between 780p and 1080p, I have read that to the naked eye it is hard to tell any difference

720p you mean. Well, if you think about resolution, and cameras, it's exactly the same, but with a moving picture instead. There is more detail in the 1080 picture. Also remember that HD is broadcast in 1080i in the UK. This means that (unless you've mucked up settings) your TV should be putting the picture out pixel-for-pixel, meaning that the picture doesn't have to be scaled. Scaling reduces the quality of the picture generally.
I can certainly see the difference between the 2, and I recon people that tell you they don't are usually trying to sell a 720 set!
