No Final Salary Pension in new job
Comments

I presumed from the original post the poster was trying to work out the value of their current package to compare it to the new package which I find normal and thought it was what you were supposed to do. In my new job the firm actually sent me a form to fill in with all my old job details - salary, pension, shares, holiday etc so they could make an offer. Most people don't voluntarily take a paycut unless they are at risk of redundancy / the new job is in some way better than the old one.0

Didn't you say the following :
"if I was an employer interviewing 20 people and one of them wanted 20% more than I was offereing they would be looked on less favourably than an interviewee who had the same experience but would be quite happy with the salary offered".
At what point has the OP said that they wanted 20% more than the new job was offering ?
It was a scenario that came to mind, you have a strange way of thinking, You keep asking the same question and I keep giving you answers, you are being pedantic and I'm off now cos Ive said my peice and offered my thoughts.
Good luck with your job hunting opmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
One would hope, after a year and a quarter, that the OP (balfralf) made up their mind some time ago.
Thought, a new poster, has revived the thread with a slightly different and more general question ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Because the way it is worded , sounds like the OP thinks that he is 'entitled' to a FSPS or an equivalentl amount of cash in his new job just because there is no FSPS, life ain't like that.0
