No Final Salary Pension in new job

I presumed from the original post the poster was trying to work out the value of their current package to compare it to the new package which I find normal and thought it was what you were supposed to do. In my new job the firm actually sent me a form to fill in with all my old job details - salary, pension, shares, holiday etc so they could make an offer. Most people don't voluntarily take a paycut unless they are at risk of redundancy / the new job is in some way better than the old one.

At what point has the OP said that they wanted 20% more than the new job was offering ?

It was a scenario that came to mind, you have a strange way of thinking, You keep asking the same question and I keep giving you answers, you are being pedantic and I'm off now cos Ive said my peice and offered my thoughts.

Because the way it is worded , sounds like the OP thinks that he is 'entitled' to a FSPS or an equivalentl amount of cash in his new job just because there is no FSPS, life ain't like that.
