So I've soaked my Aduki beans and now......

This is probably a reeeeeally stupid question, but I've never grown or cooked beansprouts before, so I'd really appreciate some advice on my next step...

I've had the beans in a glass jar on the windowsill for 5 days, rinsed and drained them 3 times a day and now they have thin shoots on about 3 inches long and roots the other end, so here's my questions...

1)are they nearly ready to use?

2)do I have to try and cut off the roots and/or the bean? or do I just throw them in a pan and stir fry the whole lot?

3)can I use them raw in sandwiches too?

4) and lastly (I think) how long do they keep once they're ready to eat?

Thanks a lot folks!
