Hi ....how is rental income worked out...i dont mind it being adding to my income....but what i get from it is about 30 pounds an month if that....as rest is spend on mortgage ect....do i have to report my rent as its not earned...and if i do....will they take the whole amount as income as when the deductions are taken from it there is not much as income left?? It was my home but i moved out as i couldnt keep up with the mortage payment on with the csa payments and move back when i can afford it...

Oh another thing about this assessment letter which they said was to update there system they only asked about wages...housing..mortgage..children living with me...they not asked about my pension....as that is taken into account on old rules as well new rules should they not ask me that to get the right amount for payment to CSA??

You will have to file a self-assessment tax return for the property anyway, even though it will show on tax return little profitable income.

I believe that CS1 rules and change of circumstances etc, depend upon whether you are paying child support via DEO? I believe if you pay via DEO you are not legally bound to inform CSA in change of circs, ie more income
  • yes i have been doing my self-assessment tax for house....but I dont pay child support via DEO i always paid via standing order..and i am up todate with my payments..all i can think is Ex has ask for me to be checked...or its just a review as the woman said at CSA....but not asking for pension payment has confused me as its part of any assessment???

Others will be along soon, Kelloggs is expert on CS1, she will be able to tell, you but if I remember rightly you are correct!

Sounds like ex has requested a check as CSA rarely reassess off their own backs, please make sure when you get a copy of the assessment decision notice that it is definitely correct, again Kelloggs is a true gem and often checks assessments for people, and with regard to your pension if you send them any details, please make sure it is in writing, and sent recorded delivery, and print off Royal Mail barcode as proof they received it, as often CSA 'dont receive' or 'lose' documents which could lower an assessment
  • Just a quicky on DEO....would i be gettin one of them...as far as i know i dont have one as i do payments via standing order..do they need to send a letter to tell me they are doing a DEO on me....or can they do it anyway...and contact employer without me knownin...only thing i know is they are given if your not paying or missing payment for a while....i been late on a few days on payments...but dont own anything to CSA..and it was only few days...

Your mortgage would be taken off first, so it is any profit you make that would be counted as income.
  • thanks for that...wont be much then with estate fees taken off.......on the letter they send...they asking for work address..and telephone..i dont mind the address bit but i not happy giving them the number...do i have too..???

Yes, they should advise you by sending a copy of the deo that they send to your employer.
