Open a barclays account after bankruptcy then....many have had barclays as a creditor myself included & they offer a basic account after you've gone BRWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Oh man - I too was going to set up a Cashminder but hadn't realised that AA were part of them (AA were RBS when I took out my loans). I owe both AA and Barclays. Is it possible to open a Cashminder AFTER BR and will this be OK?0

No if you owed monies to coop and was included in your BR, coop won't accept you.....Barclays will but only after your BR."If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"

Where did you hear the AA was part of Co-Operative banking group? I ask because I was pretty confident they weren't.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

You can open a Barclays account pre BR, but do as Phil has said and open one after going BR, if you open one before there is a possibility they will try to claim any money in your account to offset the debt. I opened one post BR and they were one of my biggest creditors.:pB&SC No. 298

Hi, AA loans taken out now are administered by Co-op Bank, but AA loans have used several banks over the years to administer their finance. I took out a AA loan in 2007, at that time they were dealing with HBOS. So every time I get a letter or statement, it is headed AA finance but has the Trinity Road, Halifax address at the bottom of it (which is HBOS head office). I have technically borrowed the money from HBOS (with AA finance getting a commission from HBOS). So in effect it depends when you took the finance out. Hope this helps.0

I have checked my recent paperwork from AA (Credit card and loan) and all say HBOS, so I guess this is who I have the debt with - not the Co-op0

Well mine was with HBOS when I took out the loan in 2007, therefore should this be ok?
I have just sorted out my wages to be paid into this account and have also set up all my direct debits!
Do you think I will be ok with this bank account now?0
