The sell by dates will probably last that long ... but the 'please don't touch til nearer xmas' post-it I'll put on it won't last long at all, lol.

    Thanks OP

Good spot, OP, but I've long since realised that all the stores do this at this time of the year, knowing that few of us have the willpower to keep them tiil Xmas, then they can sell us some more at full price nearer the time. (Cynical but true). If you have the willpower, good on you, but not for me I'm afraid - want to lose some weight before Xmas.

(Tried getting DD to hide them in the house one year, then when it came to Xmas she couldn't find them - didn't reemerge till 6 months later!) :rotfl:
    Hope is not a strategy.

    HaHa!

We always end up getting half a dozen of these tins every year, at this price now is as good a time as any! I'm trying my best to get out of the habit of leaving everything until last minute so ill go check my local co-op at some point this week. ;)
  • They also have Terrys chocolate oranges at £1.25 and Matchmakers at £1

£5 in Tescos, but you had to buy 2 for £10 a week or so ago to get them at £5 each.

I did my placement for primary school teaching last year and at Christmas I was given 13 of these tins as gifts from the kids. THIRTEEN.
I ended up having to leave 7 tins behind in the staff rooms as I travelled to school on public transport and could only manage 6 in carrier bags (I also got 3 bottles of wine and I sure as hell wasn't leaving those behind!) . I'm sure the teachers all had a lovely time scoffing them in the New Year!

The chocolate oranges at my local Co-op are £2 not £1.25, not seen Matchmakers but saw the tins of chocs for £4.75. Also had boxs of After Eights, and seashell chocs for £1 a box.

  • I bought two tins today from my local CO-OP for £4.75 each. They had plenty in stock.
Variety of Terry's chocolate oranges were all on offer at £1.25 in my local CO-OP.
