Where can I get a reference from an employer that has gone bust?

I've got confused with neutral references with character references in another post. I am currently wanting to apply for a job, but there is a problem with my references - I need two, current job - ok. But my last perm employer went bust. The potential employer ideally wants references from 2 employers that I have been working for at least 6 months.
Between my current job (been with them for 2 years) and the job at the bust employer, I did a series of temping roles varying from 2 weeks to 8 weeks for 6 months at 2 or 3 job agencies. Had the odd week not working between assignments.
I do not know of anyone who worked with me at the bust company. I left the company 12-15 months before it was busted.
I have a friend who lives in the city where the employer's Head Office was. Asked him to go to the address and its been boarded up and security fencing around the premises.

Will one of the job agencies give you a reference? I don't know if they do... just wondering.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

The job agencies should be able to give you a reference. As for the bust company contact the liquidators/administrators and ask them if they know how you could get in contact with the old management for a reference - not sure if that will work but can't think of any other way.0

Might be worth ringing someone in HR at the company and explain, you wont be the only one that this has happened to. As an employer I wouldn't mind, and be flexible enough to accept an agency reference or additional character references after all you have a most recent role reference which carries more weight.0
