Keeping afloat until filing for BR in June...

Hi,

I'm trying to find some information and hopefully examples of people who contacted creditors and tried to agree a repayment plan. Or is it best to go to the CAB as ask them to guide me?

Also, somebody very kindly replied to my other post (full story there!) and suggested that I may not be able to keep myself going until June next year – which I’m inclined to agree with – but then I do need to save up for a deposit to rent a place and the expenses that come with. How do other people do it? Surely we won’t just be turned on the streets?

Thank you

  • Most people stop paying their mortgage, secured loans and debts and save for a deposit (may need up to six months), rent, moving costs and BR fees. Move into rented accomodation, hand the keys back to the mortgaged property and petition for BR.

I work in financial services (how ironic) so I suspect that I will have to leave the mortgage to last as my lender is also my employer...
