Why Why Why ??

hello all !!
Why is it that so many people on here are so judgemental of others without even trying to help them without being blunt and rude ?
This is a quote from a thread over in the loans forum, this user had a post count of 6:
This is a typical example of what people are coming up against on this forum, a first time poster comes on for some advice, yes they may not be clued up about there finances, yes they may be misinformed, but hey, why not help them instead of throwing blunt and insulting comments at them ?
Yes some people don't like to hear the truth, but surely they deserve a little compassion ?
So many people post in the loans and credit card forums, and as soon as they post, the "click" jumps on them like a pack of wild dogs, with comments of "you should manage your finances better" "you are just a risk" "your an idiot" etc etc, how about comments that help educate these people ?
How about pointing them in the direction of some help, or god forbit actually give them some advice on there situation ?
How are we going to encourage new users on here if they are to dam scared to post in the first place ?
For most people it takes allot to come on a public forum and tell you quite personal things about there finances, without the worry of "if i post that iam going to get ripped to pieces" ??
Perhaps its time to go back to basics for some on here and start to help others in a more constructive way, instead of blunt unhelpful answers.
Iam sure that in the past some of you have asked for advice on here, I have, and I wouldn't of wanted to be ganged up on, I would of liked some useful advice, there are many on here that give great advice, but there are some who quite frankly shouldn't post any more, and perhaps should spend some time evaluating there own attitudes, before they comment on others.
any way, that's me.
debate !!!

I have asked innocent questions on here about overdrafts, and why my bank will only let me have £200, and some of the answers almost had me in tears. I felt like being told off by my own mother.I will never ask for any advice on this forum again.I'm really disappointed.
As for the loan, I have had a refusal for only £1000 from Halifax, and I never got an explanation either. My credit report is very good.I think banks just decided to stop lending and are unwilling to help anyone.Much like the people on this forum.Hope you sort youself out, good luck.

Hi wayne,
Have to agree that some people can be a little harsh but am a little confused as to why you posted on this forum? Have seen some rather abrupt and unsympathetic posts on some of the other forums (and yes loans can be a bad one) but this one, in my personal opinion, is the most supportive and least judgemental part of the site. I think perhaps because so many people on here have been in bad situations and can sympathise with people who might be confused and just need some help or a push in the right direction. I have to admit I don't post much on other parts, but that's purely due to the fact that I don't have the specific knowledge that's often asked for.0 -
Hi Pod,
I was not sure where to post this thread to be honest, iam not talking about the DFW section, really just the loans and credit card sections.
If this thread needs to be moved can a mod please move to a more appropriate section :j
thanks:j:beer: :beer::j0 -
Sadly if you put a post up in public then you are opening it up to good and bad responses, that's how all forums work and how they always will. it's a shame when it happens here, but MSE is BY FAR the friendliest site I've ever seen, by a long way. Ignore the responses you don't value, and focus on the one's you do.
And stick around here, it's a great resource and support network!

MSE is a great forum, full of very knowledgeable and helpful people, but as of late in some areas all I see is new users coming on, posting and leaving as quickly as they have joined, with there tails between there legs so to speak.:j:beer: :j0

I'd say the this section is far more supportive and tolerant than some on the loan and credit card section. If you have an issue with them, however, I would bring it up with the site itself or post it there. If you're looking for assistance with a financial issue, this section (DFW) is generally quite good.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Hi Triggles,
I thankfully don't need any help, my comments are in general, not about myself, but more of my observations.:j:beer: :j0 -
another example:
whilst the OP had a bit of an attitude, the replies he/she got were much like this one:It can be flowered up and gift wrapped in cuddles master wootton, the bottom line is like I said, you are too poor for this £10k car.
I know it, we know it, the banks know it, only one person left!!!
You "Ain't" getting a loan for £10k, looks like you will be the laughing stock in the Chav gang.
Still, your budget may stretch to one of these.
Best Wishes
Donkey fiddler.
Granted, very amusing, but not helpful in anyway.:j:beer: :j0 -

Mr.O
Some usefull sites very friendly
CAG Consumer Action Group - very good on bailiffs and debt collection agencys
Pepipoo - very good for parking tickets
You do get your trolls everywhere, my opinion is if I cant help I cant post.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Some posters just won't accept that the advice they are being given is sensible because they don't want to hear it.
Some time ago there was a poster on this board who simply would not accept that selling her horse would go a long way to solving her financial problems.0 -
