Telegrams advise

I as some of you know are helping my friend with his dmp , today he had a call from a firm called telegrams ODD as he has gone ex directory. They said they wanted him to confirm his address as they had a letter for him if he was the said person. He would not confirm it so they said we will just call your neighbours and get the info so he hung up ANY IDEAS FOLKS???.

Well missing a digit i tried calling!!I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.

Wouldn't be so sure, the closest thing on google is a company that builds phone directories of ex-directory people. They may have been employed to track someone down, but not be collectors.0 -
Likewise can't find anything on google. However there are plenty of examples of other people being phoned by "The Telegram Office" or similar. As has been mentioned above these are all some spurious offices of various DCA's. Effectively ignore them and don't even give them the time of day never mind anything else.

Got the number checked by him via his answer phone that is the number they left , however i have googled and some on says it is a company with links to capquest.As for phoning his neighbours I have told him not to worry about it doubtful they would say anything to him about it.0 -
If you google Telogram, you find lots of references.
They are a company related to Capquest and are fishing for details.

I think your friend should ignore them. If nothing else he should say he has signed up to the Telephone Preference Service, so they should not call him again.0 -
