Council Tax bailifs help
Comments

however she could afford to pay £50 per month (remembering she is exempt from council tax at the moment)
She's not exempt from council tax, she gets it paid via council tax benefit. He said don't worry we will visit your property. I was appalled and called him back he was just as rude to me saying that he didn't have to speak to me and hung up.
The bailff will visit the property in most cases for a levy of goods before an arrangement is made - this is standard as its his security against any default. Please can anyone tell me who to contact regarding this bullying behaviour?
Apart from the way he handled speaking to you there doesn't appear to be any bullying behaviour.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
