Reclaimed my bank charges - got £250 back from HSBC and £88 from First Direct

Mine came from having to find somewhere to live for me and my daughter and buying associated things like a bed for her to sleep in. I went over a year before i could afford a cooker as the house didnt come with one..
Then it spirals from only paying back the minimum needed, to taking out another card to lower the balance and on it goes....
Can we put mine down to needed purchases and then bad management ?? lol*Spendi*
