Own brand shampoo etc

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend any cheap toiletries and cosmetics, that are still nice to use and have a decent result.

Dont really mind if they are not a well known brand or are own brand.

Thank You.

I have quite dry/course semi curly/semi straight hair and I have tried everything going and done the downshift challenge.

    My personal best buys are

Sainsburys Coconut Shampoo / Sainsburys Coconut conditioner Which seemingly you cant buy online anymore or Id give you a link. Its about 50p a bottle and I personally really like it.

Another conditioner I really like is boots essentials blue or pink ( one is for dry hair not much differnce between them) give a lovely silky hair result. this is 59p for 500ml so is slightly better value than the coconut one :)

I have also tried tea tree shampoo in sainsburys personally i didnt like it and found it quite stripping.

Shower gel wise: I can usually find imperial leather for about 80p somewhere which is ok, Nivea cashmere moments is usually in the £ shop or my fave when I get there is Waitrose Cinnamon cakes shwer creme and thats 99p as well.

looking forward to seeing what other suggestions you get !
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Thank you. I will be giving them a go. Like the sound of the sainsbury's one with coconut, as my hair gets quite dry too from straightening. :)
  • I've downshifted to Tesco's own Coconut shampoo and condtioner, and honestly haven't noticed any difference in my hair. I used to spend 3-4 times the amount on hair products!

Our household has also tried the Tesco's tea tree shampoo and the apple and aloe vera conditioner. Both are fine, the conditioner smells lovely but the tea tree shampoo is a bit harsh for my dry frizzy hair.

Currently trying out Boot's own version of the coconut and almond shampoo and conditioner - will report back!

Haven't found a cheap version of hair serum though!
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

  • Both Superdrug own brand & M&S toiletries & cosmetics are on my list of 'goodies' as they are excellent value for money and also, BUAV approved. Oh I forgot to add, Argos own brand cosmetics are also new to the BUAV list.
