Apart from helping me through all the bankruptcy process, it has given me the courage to answer the phone again without worrying about creditors shouting.
HSBC phoned today and asked me to repay my overdraft. I advised them that I was br and gave them the details. Fine. Then she asked me the reason why I had been declared BR. Previously I would have got really stressed, started apologising and explaining the whole mess. But, what did I do? I simply said "I don't have to give you anymore information" and that was it.
Something so small but made me feel so much better and without this forum I wouldn't have known that they don't have the right to this information.
Thanks everyone, you are great :T:T:T:T

Know exactly how you feel Jedi and well done for staying strong.
We almost looked forward to the first call after our BR.
Pre BR they were just relentless and harrassed us all day and evening. I remember my stomach used to turn over every time the phone rang, it was a nightmare. So to know they couldn't use their bully boy tactics anymore was such a relief.
Glad to hear you have found so much help here too0 -

It took NatWest three phone calls. All at ridiculously early in the morning (well, before 8 am).
The first time, I ended up putting the phone down on the woman, she just wouldn't accept that I was BR and that I couldn't/wouldn't pay her a lot of money.
The second time was similar, except I was ranty that they hadn't noted my BR on their system.
The third time, the lovely lady checked online, confirmed the details of the OR and apologised for the previous two calls! We may not have it all together, but together we have it all
