  • Untwist your knickers everyone! Pressing "Thanks" costs nothing and if it makes someone feel better ('cos it certainly doesn't put money in their pocket!), so what?

Pressing "Thanks" when people post pointless so called freebies only encourages them to post more rubbish.

The OP has been filling up this board with dross for the past few days in an obvious attempt to gain "Thanks".

Just ignore the idiots and hopefully they will go away.

Aww people, come on, let's be nice, please :)

No, it's not a freebie as such, because you have to spend to get it, but for mums like me, I'm always popping into Woolworths, this is a great piece of info for me.

So personally, I would like to say thanks to Biddy79uk (Whether she had asked me to or not! :) )

Okay, it is annoying when people specifically ask for thanks. There is no reward for the number of thanks you get as far as I know. I guess it is just nice to be thanked?

This post may not be relevant to some of us now, but we definitely won't get any at all in future if Biddy79uk doesn't bother posting anymore because she doesn't want the hassle.

Okay, I've put my colander on my head, got a large metal pan lid as a shield, so I'm ready for any moans at me now! :rotfl:

People, have a wonderful day and may your letterboxes be blessed with many fantastic freebies.

    Isn't that a bit harsh.

So the previous post by the OP (as an example) is not also pointless drivel?

Ahh, but not if you live in Blanford! Some freebies are not always relevant to me either, maybe freebies being given away in train station promotions for instance, or at well known burger bars. These are no good to me, but I'm sure some people may find them useful.

Isn't this site about helping each other? Not every freebie is required to be applicable to every person. If it helps just one person, surely that is worthwhile? And if you say that a post hasn't helped anyone because they haven't been thanked, well, maybe that's Biddy78uk's problem? Many of my friends never bother to press that 'Thanks' button, even if they have used it.

If Biddy78uk has been posting links just for the thanks, if they feel that need, (and I'm not saying that is the case) then maybe a 'community' environment where they feel welcome is a good thing for them to involved in? Personally, having had a look back at their other posts, I don't see a problem. Maybe that's just me? :)

The thing is, do you want to be thanked because you asked to be thanked, or do you want to be thanked because someone is actually genuinely grateful? (By "you" I mean "one" btw). I know which one I'd rather... :o

Given the fragility care that the Royal Mail present, I hope that they bubble wrap the tins, or is it packet soup!

One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.
