A lovely vist from Provident!

Hmm, Yes all I can say is WOW

I answered the door to my area manager let him in to discuss my DMP, I'm just about to enter

He was so rude, I felt like crying...I understand I'm in a bad situation etc.

I showed him my paper work and he demanded who my other debts are currently with! He literally threw my paper work down and threw his clip board and pen to say he's spoken to me

He's advised me not to go into this DMP as he's going to lose me as a customer,

I feel so be-littled and embrassed about it

Has anyone else had something like this happen?
Help me!
:o

Don't worry about him being rude and definitely ignore his "advice" about not going on a DMP! He has absolutely NO rights to any details of your other creditors, you do not have to give him this information. You should contact Provident (in writing) and complain about his attitude, you are obtaining help with your debts and it is none of his business how you do that. When you contact them, tell them that you are not able to pay a doorstep collector any more and that you wish to commence payment by standing order or by weekly/monthly cheque or postal order. At the rate of interest they have been charging you, they have no right to treat you like that!
(I've worked for Provident, I know exactly what they're like!)

  • Hi abc,

Definately don't let him in again and do what you think is right for you, not what's right/good for provident!

    Good luck in getting sorted
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

I would suggest that if he does it again, make a complaint to the Office of Fair Trading who regulate lenders.

Funny thing is, before he payed me a vist I rang him and explained the situation and tried to give the details of the DMP over the telephone and he refused to take them as he said that DMP company would be in touch with him!

I'm currently looking for the complaints procedure of their website!

Gosh don't they hide this well! :o
