I had a similar problem - I was with SSE and moved to npower, but was struggling to get through to them. After a little perserverence though, I have made contact (and money!). I have stayed with SSE for my FIT payments.
I'm having similar problems. I understood that you could chose the utility who provided the Fit but the reality is quite different. Ecotricity were great but you have to have your electricity with them. Good Energy were good too - but you had to have your electricity with them.
I haven't got much time to chase utilities so I gave up in the end and went with EDF who are holding their prices until March - but you guessed it- if/when I move supplier I have to move the FiT too. Not the end of the world but a bit of extra hassle I could do without. Disappointed with the service so far - 4 days to email an application form.
Apparenlty BG are open to all for FiT but I'm not keen I've had a few problems with BG in the past.Target of wind & watertight by Sept 20110
