    Not at all stupid.

    Your dog will probably be happy to eat it and it will do him / her no harm. Cats are normally more fussy than dogs and cat food might be more "refined" than dog food.

    Although saying that, my moggies will often try to tuck into the dog's food even after i have offered them the most delectable (and expensive) cat food!

    And the dog is more than happy to clear up anything left in the cat bowls. :)

    Most advice would say not to feed dog food to cats but a free pack of cat chow will certainly not do your dog any harm.
