Thanks for the reminder, had signed upto Boots service to let me know when back in stock but they havent emailed me! have ordered one for my daughter. Is this unit multi region as well? Am I right in thinking that this unit is multi region as well? If so then its even better value!

If it's not you can get codes to unlock them just like a phone to make them multi region. The only dvd players you can't unlock without chipping is a sony one. Most others you get a code that lets you in to a secret menu where you can change the region to which ever one you want or multi region it......©..®..(TM) NothingVentured.

example code for a technosonic dvd player
"Make sure no disk is in the drive
Hit Setup
Press Setup, Next, Prev, Next, Prev
It now says VER.. and some number
Change that to 255 with the Left/Right keys"
i will try this when mine comes and let you know if this works to make it multi region if not i will try and get the one that does work and either post it here if i am allowed or let you know and you can pm me
this one should work
1.Using your remote control only, first press the "open" button.( while the dvd loader is left open), press the following keys in this order:- setup, arrow right, arrow left, arrow down, arrow up, display.
2. This should now display regional information & filmware information in the top left of the tv screen. ( it should show the default setting of region 2 "002". Now using your remote press the number region that you require, i.e. 1-6 or 0 for multi-regional.
3. Now press the number 7, then 8, then 9.
4. Now with the dvd loader hatch still open, turn off the MAIN POWER on the front of your TV.
5. Once the power is restored, your DVD/TV combi will now be multi-regional.

not true. i have a sony dvd player with surround sound, which was locked to region 2 (england) at time of purchase. i found a sort of "remote control" on the internet which might have been an engineers remote, bought it, followed the instructions, and it is now multi regional. from a remote control signal.0 -
I ordered this today after seeing the multi region hack for it, thanks! I decided against ordering it yesterday as I couldnt find one myself...
Anyway I registered with Boots and also registered for an advantage card. I put through my mums advantage card number in the meantime so the points could be added for her. My email invoice says 'Boots Advantage Card points with this order: 0'
Is this correct? I know it says no other offers available with this order online, but Im sure someone else said there were triple points? And if there are points, will they be added to my mums card, if not can I pick them up when my own card arrives?0 -
You should have got advantage card points. I used my sister's number and my confirmation says :
Boots Advantage Card points with this order: 708
I didn't apply online for my own as I didn't know I could at the time - otherwise I would have and got another 200 points.0 -

Sorry but for the luck of finding a sort of engineers remote most sony stuff has to be chipped in order to be multi region or play copies etc.You could of made yourself quite a bit of money if you advertised that you could unlock them without chipping them(But don't tell them how you do it
