i want a machine mart code or does anyone know when the next vat free night is??

Apparently no codes as such, VAT free night is twice a year and usually in May and November. Insider tip apparently if you find one open on Sunday then its a vat free day.

I've been doing some snooping on other forums and people are saying that if you call up your local machine mart they will tell you when the next VAT free day is. They seem to be happening right now, or in the last 3 weeks or so.

These all seem to be 'in store' discounts, the only online discount I could see was somebody saying they were emailed 15% off through their mailing list but it was person specific.

Net VAT FREE Day is 31st December (well it is in the Glasgow branch anyway). I'm waiting till then to buy myself a new Clarke welder (its Vat free - while other items will be around 10% off).

Its worth asking your local branch. Mine added me to their mailing list, told me about the vat free day, and said I could 'pre-order' for pickup on the 31st December (but I HAD to pick up and pay on that day, which is fair enough)

So I guess I'll be in Glasgow on Hogmanay!
