Hi Guys
As some of you know Hubby and I are filing for Bankruptcy on the 29th September and you have all been sooo helpful and supportive already I thought I'd ask yet another questions
We stopped paying our mortgage 2 months ago and moved into rented accomodation. My question now is do I hand the keys back to the mortgage compnay now or do I wait until after the bankruptcy is granted (fingers crossed) I understand that I will need to list the house on the BR forms but not sure how to go about giving it back without ending up liable for fees or shortfall etc.
Any advice?
Thanks
Cissie

just leave it. Do nothing and SIGN NOTHING. They will repo and then it will go into your BR0

We stopped paying mortgage in March'10 - Went BR in May'10 and we got letter over the weekend with a court date for repo. We're now renting.
We did nothing as we didn't want the hassel of them trying to get us to vol repo. Just ignored all corres and things have worked out ok.
Falze.I'm no expert, but i'll give you my opinion, my support and my experience. Its all i have.

I would contact the lenders after you have been made bankrupt and let them know and ask them what they want you to do0
