  • Well done. That was a really well written post. It shows that it can be done with will and determination, as well as it not being a quick fix. you didn't take the easy way out, you faced it and I expect you have a very satisfied feeling.

Especially the feeling as you paid MBNA the £1.27!
  • Well done!! & thank you for sharing your experience, its really inspiring.:D

I hopefully will be writing a post like this in just over 6 months (fingers crossed)

  • Well done!!!
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • Thanks for the thanks everyone. Particularly the one who said it was well written... I should hope so or for the last 38 years of my life I've been in the wrong job :-)
I'm not saying how much because I'm embarassed as well, Put it this way, it was MORE than my mortgage.

I've reread my post and I should add that my general lightheadedness (yes it's a word, I just made it up) as a result of being free (paid MBNA as well tonight) combines to make it sound, perhaps, a bit easier than it was.

Make no mistake, the last six years have been hard at times but this site and the stories I read helped a great deal. And, of course, it is worth it in the end.

Congratulations on coming out the other side of the long slog.

Six years is a great achievement, not just on paying it all off but actually sticking with the "diet" that long.
