Hi All,
What advice can you give for someone looking to take on a 2nd job in terms of tax etc...
I'll be earning less than 30k combined, will my tax go up by alot?

As you will be earning less than £30k in total everything you earn in your second job will be taxed at 20%.
Whether you will pay any National insurance in your new job depends on how much you earn. If you are paid weekly for the second job then in any week that you earn more than £110 you would have to pay national insurance at 11% on anythin over that £110.
If you are paid monthly for the second job then you would need to earn over £476 before you paid any extra NI.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

In your 2nd job you should get a tax code of BR which will give the 20% deduction from all your earnings in that job.0 -
