Cheap micro hifi at Lidl

Options
Hi guys,
Called into Lidl today and noticed that the micro systems that were £40 last week have been reduced to £19.99
Last week they only had the silver version which looks a bit different to the one on their site here: http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20060925.p.Mini_Stereo_System.ar3
It appears that when the new white one came in at £19.99 they reduced the others too.
I went for the silver one which just looked better to me and was in a bigger box. It also plays MP3 CD's which the white one doesn't, and comes with a remote with more functions.
Tried it out this afternoon and the sound quality was fantastic for the price.
Was going to get my eldest a cd clock radio but this was much better value.
It automatically recognizes which type of disc is inserted and it played everything I threw at it without problems.
Would make a great xmas prezzy for the kids to go with the Roald Dahl Audio Books!

  • thanks to the op for this - I went in on Monday to buy 3 of these to put away for the kids at Xmas, and couldn't see what was different between the white and silver ones. I eventually chose the silver ones as the boxes for the white ones looked as if they had been opened and resealed. Looks like I made the right choice!

Incidentally, one of the boxes that I did buy wasn't sealed, and on checking the contents when I got home, I found a sealed bag with an extra set of instructions for an ipod docking station. I think the make was Targa - if these are of any use to anyone, let me know!
  • Hadn't seen this thread - not been on for a few days but I spotted these in Lidl Grimsby (Ladysmith Rd) today. I also spotted that the silver one is far superior in that it plays MP3s and also the output is much greater than the white one. Total bargain for £19.99 IMHO!

Just to let you know there were approx. a dozen or so left when I was in at lunchtime today, if this helps anyone...:money:
