Renting - nearly 3 yrs post bankruptcy.. ?

Hi there,
I am currently renting and had to pay 6 months in advance to get the place and now I just pay the landlord directly.
Me and my Boyfriend are looking to rent together and I've warned him that due to my bankruptcy I might be refused.
Any idea how I stand? It will be 3 yrs on 6th Dec 2010 since I was declared bankrupt.
We are looking to rent in Oct/Nov time.
We may decide to pay the 6 months up front, otherwise he will take it on in his name as he has a fine credit score.
Anybody had any experience of this? Thank you x

Aww thank you

I did speak to the letting agency today, and they said that it wouldn't necessarily be a problem but I would need to write a covering letter on the application to explain the circumstances behind the bankruptcy.
Also they said that as we are both over 18yrs old then we both have to be on the tenancy, my boyfriend can't just do it in his name. (which I didn't realise).
The other option is 6 months up front, which I can just about get together with a little bit of savings and my first student loan payment lol. I think this is going to be our best option really. It's a lovely area and there is competition to rent the best places, so we would get to the top of the list with 6 months up front.
Bummer really, but it's my own fault and my stupid credit history..9/70lbs to lose
