I'm with CCCS, and they are great. The good thing about CCCS is that several of their staff post advice on here, so we have inside knowledge.
I think Debt Remedy is fairly new, I haven't tried it myself. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Thanks SPUD!
Is it true you get loads of phonecalls from your creditors?
As I am just about managing to make all my minimum payments, will that make it less likely for the creditors to accept the DMP proposal?
I do make late payments and miss a few, but most of the time I'm ok. I have a couple of cards that are always over the limit as I can't afford to make a payment large enough to keep it below when the interest is added on!
What timescales can I expect to get this sorted if I call CCCS tomorrow?0 -

If you call CCCS tomorrow, you will probably get an appointment in around a month's time. They are worth the wait though, in my opinion.
We did get, and are still getting, the occasional letter and call. Our circumstances were quite different though, we couldnt manage our minimum payments because I lost my job. In fact we could only offer £5 each per creditor for the first couple of months, so the creditors possibly had every right to be alarmed.
We have now increased our payments, though still not to the minimums, and things are improving.
Hope this helps, and good luck xIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

How does it work then?
What happened in your case?
Do they make a recommendation online?0 -
yeah make sure you fill in the details accurately, and they give you recommendations for anything that will be suitable for your situation. I already knew I wanted a DMP as I have one with Baines and ernst
I only did this last week so its still in the process of being set up, but in the initial pack they sent it tells you everything you need to be getting on with!
I am really happy with the service, adn I hate talking on the phone, it also avoids the 3 week long wait for a phone interview!!
I would recommend.
I spoke to someone last week to ask a couple of questions and got through straight away :rotfl:Proud to be dealing with my debts

FANTASTIC!
Finally got the Debt Remedy program to work on CCCS!
It has recommended a DMP for me where I will be paying £719 per month to my creditors.
I currently pay £931 contractually, so I will offering £212 less.
What has everyone elses difference been between their contractual payment and their new one?
I just have to await the pack in the post now!
Do I have to write to all my creditors?
Whats this about opening a new bank account?
How will a DMP affect my credit score?
Sorry about all the questions??! My head's buzzin!0 -
Hi, yes CCCs recommend sending a token payment alongwith a support letter explaining why you're struggling and how you plan on tackling your debt. The support letter is included in the pack - it's very straightforward.
You should open a basic bank account (no overdraft facility etc) This is if you owe your own bank any money then they can arrest your wages etc... I opened a step account with natwest and it took about 2 weeks. I bank online with them and they're great. So you now need to cancel all your d/ds with your old account and set up with new account.
Most creditors will default the arrangement you had with them. I think this is standard practice. So it's fair to say your credit file will be shot to pieces for 6 years anyway. But do you really want to borrow again?
You'll get alot of calls from your creditors initially but it soon dies down.
Hope this helps
