Halo Reach - best deal/price

Not sure if this is the right place..... but here goes.

DS is nagging about pre-order Halo Reach, because you get some 'special' code or something with it.
I cannot find anything on Game or Tesco which mentions anything extra special with a pre-ordered copy but....

I know I have left it a bit late ( I do have lots of other things to do, though DS is not convinced!) and have missed the double discount with Tesco for the £5 and 15%, plus 6% cash back etc.

Has anyone seen a good deal for pre-ordered copies, and would someone explain to this Old Bag, exactly what 'extra' DS will be getting with his pre-ordered copy.

Most of previous 'new releases' we have bought on the day from Asda or Sainsburys at a greatly discounted price..... so not sure it is worth pre-ordering when the price on the day might be much better.

Tesco say they will charge you lowest of preorder price, or price on release day. But then Tesco never seem to have a great price reduction - usually any offer is linked to buying another chart game as well.

Best pre-order price (with the code) I could find is at SimplyGames for £33.85. You can go through Quidco for a little cashback.

then you can get it for just £9.97 at ASDA

It's available from 1 minute past midnight on Monday night / Tuesday morning - basically as soon as it is the 14th

This is for the XBOX 360 (as are the Trade-In games)

Does your local ASDA do the TRADE-IN system and sell PRE-OWNED Games ?

I've never used it myself but it is well advertised at ours - has been for about 6 months I'd guess since the store had a "refurbishment" and the layout was revamped.

I'm referring to the ASDA WalMart at Spondon in Derby.

Regards the HALO offer - large display just inside the main entrance with the price details and timings etc.

AND I picked up an A5 flyer that has exactly the same details.

Perhaps it's only certain stores ?

Right, further information.

Firstly - TRADE-IN at ASDA - appears this is only at a handful of stores (but apparently it has been a great success and so is being rolled out to other stores)

The few stores that I've been told about that do Trade-In (there may be another 1 or 2) are

Mine - Spondon Derby

CROWN POINT - LEEDS

HUYTON - LIVERPOOL

WEST BRIDGFORD - NOTTINGHAM

and one in HULL - KINGSFORD ?

Secondly SOME Asda stores will be SELLING it for a lot (£4.50 or £5 ?) CHEAPER than others.

Currently being displayed at https://www.asda.co.uk - HALO REACH is £37.47 with FREE delivery

In Derby it is £37.xx (£37.47 or £37.97) at the SINFIN Store

At SPONDON it is JUST £32.97

The £9.97 price as I previously posted is achieved by the Trade-In of any of the 4 games I specified earlier each of which currently has a Trade-In value of £23

Asda Eastlands in Manchester also do Trade-In, but I cant confirm they have the Halo offer

Posted on HDUK - another Asda Halo Reach offer.

I asked yesterday in my local ASDA - who are not 24 hours.
Couldn't tell me how much is would be and doesn't do the trade in.
BUT, was told there would be Halo hoodies on sale.
These were part of the pre-order deal with Asda, but extra ones would be on sale seperately.

On HDUK davidt655 says he bought the game with a hoodie in his local for £32.47..... but so far appears no one else have been able to get this deal.
Called in tonight at my local Asda, no hoodies and game is £37+..... so I have given it a miss for now.
Think Sainsbury has the game at £35.

I can confirm about the HALO HOODIES - I'd intended to mention them in a previous post.

They were on sale for £9 at the Spondon, Derby store.

Apparently they are EXCLUSIVE to ASDA

Shoptonet have it for £35.85 with free postage. Sorry I'm a bit of a technophobe and don't know how to do links. They are a good company, I have used them a lot and normally if you order one day before 5.30pm it's with you the next. Perfect when you have impatient kids!!!!
