how do I make an easy cheap chicken curry that isn't to hot as the children like curry but not to spicy. Also are samosas easy to make, thinking of packed lunch. Any ideas for pasta without it being pasta n sauce or spag bol. Thanks

Pasta Bake? Lasagne? Cannelloni?
Most pasta dishes are really pasta and sauce. Afterall a serving of plain pasta is pretty boring. You just need to vary the sauces to have a really easy, quick, and interesting meal.0 -
Fry a chopped up onion in Korma curry paste (I love Pataks) then add diced chicken, a tin of chopped tomatoes and some chopped veg or chickpeas (depending on what the children will eat). It's also nice if you stir in some natural yoghurt just before serving.
The curry paste is expensive £1.49 a jar but lasts ages in the fridge.
Happy cooking.:D0 -
I just made one for my dinner.... its not very traditional but everything in it I like ....
just fried some red onions, added 2 chopped chicken breasts some chopped tomatoes , a little chopped apple , some medium Tesco's own curry powder (it saves having 6 different spices) to taste, and some tomato puree... you can add coconut and a few sultanas if the kids like it, then add half a pint of water and simmer , (I'd be tempted to add some baked beans as well if the kids like them) , thicken either with plain yoghurt, double cream of for cheapness just some cornflour ....... serve mine with brown rice but well cooked as I don't like it hard......:rotfl:
Its also a lot cheaper than buying ready made paste or sauce....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

My Pasta bake:
fry mushrooms, courgettes, pepper (in garlic, natch) until soft. mix in oven dish with cooked pasta and heated, chopped smoked sausage. Add your choice of sauce, top with cheese and crushed Doritos - med/high oven for 20 minutes:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0
