Architect's quote for drawings

Hi guys,
I have just been quoted £1000-1200 for drawings. I am converting my existing integral garage into an ensuite bedroom, nothing complicated. I was expecting the cost to be about half that, am I being unrealistic ?
Cheers in advance.

That does should very high
I am in Hampshire, but found an architect who visited 2 days a week from Oswestry
He cost £650 for an extension
You need some more quotes0 -
If it's simple, why not use someone who can draw plans but isn't actually an architect? I can't remember what they're called, but my neighbour used one for their extension & he cost about £150. I'm not sure what the regulations are about the drawing of plans, but you called always ask the planning office if that would be acceptable.0

Shop around! I only paid £600 for a two storey extension - hall, cloaks, garage, bedroom, ensuite & dressing room!
Plans do have to be specific and you do need someone with experience. You have to specify materials too.
You will also need separate drawings to specify the build for building regs control and I think mine cost another £150 ..... so your quote is still far too high IMHO.
Which part of the country are you in?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac
