Bailiffs Powers - Courts and Enforcement Bill

Following on from the BBC whistleblower programme and my other “Bailiffs up to their old tricks” thread from yesterday I think the important thing to take away from this is that if you thing the Bailiffs are running amok now just wait 5-6 years and then see what they are doing!

There are currently fundamental changes being drafted and laid before the government and the courts in the form of the Courts and Enforcements Bill which will change the current distress laws beyond recognition.

The majority of the unlawful entry practices highlighted in the whistleblower program will actually become legally "acceptable" and we are likely to see lawful forced entry approved as is already the case with magistrates fines.

Some of the new proposal are frankly shocking to say the least, and have some very serious implications for civil liberty’s
