Tesco F&F Signature Knee Highs - 1p per pack!

Hiya

Had a proper fall out with the shop assistant in Tesco Wrexham today! I picked up a pack of F&F Signature Luxury Soft Opaque Knee Highs, 40 den appearance - in the reduced secttion, stickered down to £1.25

Took them to the clothes till with a few other bits and bobs - and they scanned at 1p!! But then the shop assistant said she couldnt sell them to me as they'd gone off the system. I argued that they had scanned so they were on the system so why couldnt she sell them to me?! She wasnt having any of it. So I gave up and left them with her but went back to the reduced section, picked up a few more packs and went downstairs to the self scan area and bought them there. So a grand total of 8 packs - so 16 pairs (3 for me, 3 for my mum and 2 for my sister) for 8p!

If anyone is interested they are in blk/white/grey packaging, with a womans legs on the front. Original price was £2.50 but these were marked down to £1.25

:-) HTH

Maybe you should buy things like that at the self scan till just in case?

I get the impression from bonjovibel's reference to the 'self serve lady' she did.

In my experience Tesco regularly reduce things to 1p when they're selling them off - I'd contact Customer Services and get them to put your store right.
    Hope is not a strategy.

hi, i work on the clothing section of Tesco's
every so often head office reduced old stock to 1p so we know what to take off sale and reprocess.
depends how quick we do this as to how many are left on the shop floor.
we have had the odd one in ours but we always let the customer have them for 1p as that is what the scan at.i dont now why some assistants are so difficult i'm all for an easy life no hassles.
good luck to anyone finding 1p items

Do staff actually get into any trouble if they let these items through? X

  • hi yes i was at the self serve lady it was only cos my daughter picked up a pair of knee high socks that were not on the system again that the lady came over and she nopticed the bra had gone through for 1p anyone wud think it wud be comin out of their own money the way they go on to say the cs in my store are rude is an understatement
  • I bought a pack of tights reduced to £2 on friday they scanned at 1p and the assistant just let them go through. great tights too, pity they did not have any more in the same size
  • I got some t shirts put 3 through self scanner and some job's worth came and cancelled the purchase. Went through customer service they called duty manager would not budge. My argument is once you have scanned and its in your bag it should be yours, thats Morrisons view anyway. I was told couldn't have goods as they were being recalled as faulty. A plain t shirt no buttons is hardly going to kill you. Have e mailed Tesco head office a week later still waiting for reply. Have been back to Tesco and got a couple of pairs of plastic shoes blue and black ones for 1p Yes felt a bit better then

I had this with a hair dye once which was stickered at something silly. I checked the price on the machine they have for that and it came up as 1p so I went and got all the others off the shelf. When I got to the till, none of them would scan or go through as typed so they couldn't sell them to me. I did offer to take them for free but they weren't having it. They weren't rude though, they had a bit of a laugh with me so I wasn't so gutted.
