Hi all,
I live in Leicester and want to get an independent mortgage advisor.
Where's the best place to look / can anyone recommend one?
Thanks.

Hi, Just used a chap yesterday, independent, no fee. Picked out some good deals, not pushy, i am considering my options. Popped round within 24 hours to give me all the details. Company is Tuchwood, of 24 Mandervell road, leics. le2 5lq. Tel (james tutt 07815 081418). he was recommended by my estate agent (Lifestyle Homes) after i asked for some advice and they have managed to sell my house in 5 days! Went live on Rightmove on saturday, sold wednesday night at the very top price i could have expected - anyway i digress!:j0

I'm afraid Lifestyle Homes do not recommend Tuchwood.
I'll have to find someone else.
Anyone else have recommendations?0 -
:beer:Agreed, I don't think they'll 'recommend' anyone. I was just asking for some advice and it worked for me!0

HI All
I used tuchwood mortgage solutions in Leicester this year when I was looking to buy a house. usually I would go through the mortgage application process myself but this time I thought it would make life easier employing James Tutt of Tuchwood Mortgage Solutions to do this for me.
I was wrong James Tutt of Tuchwood Mortgage Solutions is incompetent and Very Unprofessional He did not add anything to the process of applying for a mortgage other than costing me a large sum of money and slowing me down.
He is hard to talk to when ever I wanted to explain something to him he would just talk over me never listening to what I was telling him, he gave me incorrect information which led to me incurring extra costs and also delayed the whole mortgage process.
Through out the whole process he was really slow at finding out from the bank how the application was going, and when I finally got the mortgage offer after doing most of the work myself. I received the paper work from the bank it then took him 3 days to tell me I had got the mortgage offer which I already knew about!!
He then after this lengthy process and taking a long time to get any answers out of him was extremely quick in ringing me to find out when he could come and collect his money
My advice is to stay away from James Tutt of Tuchwood Mortgage solutions at all costs.:mad::mad:0 -

In my honest opinion you can't bead good old word of mouth. Ask friends, family or colleagues who they have used.
Always the first placed to start before trusting listings on a website.0 -
James Tutt, a Leicester mortgage broker, arranged my mortgage for me, and he did an excellent job. I needed a large mortgage to enable me to buy a house quickly, before the sale of my present house. I wanted to be able to pay off the mortgage as soon as I had sold my house, so I wanted no early repayment charges. I also wanted to avoid paying any fees for the mortgage (apart from the necessary survey and legal fees and James’ basic fee). James found me the perfect mortgage. He also arranged it very quickly – I received the mortgage offer within two weeks. Another internet reviewer has criticised James. All I can say is that he gave me an outstanding professional service. I would recommend him to anybody.0

Here's a postscript to my entry about James getting me the perfect mortgage offer within just a couple of weeks. My sale proceeded much quicker than expected, so that, by the time I was ready to complete my purchase, I no longer needed the mortgage - which meant that James would not receive any commission from the mortgage company. To his credit, when I told him that I wouldn't need the mortgage after all, he responded very positively, saying that I should do whatever was best for me. There was no pressure from him for me to take up the mortgage.0
