Where's the Tesco cheap stuff?

I was in Tesco today and they didn't have any Tesco value shower gel. They didn't have any Tesco value toothpaste. It was the same story with other products. Do they just stock token amounts so that they can advertise them to get the customers in or am I shopping on the wrong day?

things go out of stock, its not a conspiracy, maybe the 2 items are from the same supplier/factory and they have supplier problems0 -
Tesco yeast spread was missing too..... hmmmmSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Maybe the recession is making more people downshift to the cheaper items, then, making them run out sooner. I certainly wasn't fussy about buying the cheapest in the past, but then until I started reading about it on here, I hadn't realised just how different the prices were.0

I never found that to be a problem... however I live in an area of snobbery and too much money... so very few people buy value... so I get it all instead! Their loss is my gain!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. The Mr T near us runs out of stock of everything decent priced on a Saturday but strangely manages to get back in stock by Sunday morning.
I too was beginning to wonder if they were cutting back on value stock recently. Luckily we have another couple different supermarkets in the area and their basics are much better. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

That's because they have staff in overnight to re-stock... during the day on Saturday they rarely stock the shelves!
When I worked I shopped at 9.30am on a Sunday!!!
Now I do it at 9am on a Friday morning... wonderful... always stocked and hardly anyone there!!!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. most smaller branches only have a few of the value items in stock, well the ones near me, but if it was a proper supermarket not an express thats not very good,. but i assume because of the reccesion that these products are becoming more popular and are bound to sell out faster0

We don't have too much of a problem with value stock - I'm just annoyed that the Value Shortbread has been a rip-off 30p for so long, keep looking and hoping it will be back down to at least 12p!! Now having to use other buscuits! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I can't say for sure, but when certain brand's of Tesco's become out of stock simultaneously, it can mean that the packaging is changing. This has happened recently with their own branded things such as ready meals and sandwiches. It may also be out of stock due to the suppliers as said previously. If you are a regular shopper, I know that customer service can order items in for you, has been handy in the past when nearing xmas!0

Does the store actually stock the Value versions of these items, and you mean there was a gap where they were meant to be? If so, sometimes they sell out. Possible supplier problem, or maybe someone mucked up the system so none got ordered when it was needed.
If you just couldn't find them at all and there wasn't even a place on the shelf they were supposed to be in, well, not all the stores carry the Value versions of everything. The one near me doesn't seem to have much at all in the Value, right annoying it is at times, although they seem to be getting more of them in.0
