Make sure you are somewhere quiet and without distraction (unlike a previous poster who decided to do theirs when out in the park with their mates). Have a pen and paper (and possibly calculator) to hand.
Telephone interviews tend to be very early stage initial opinions on can you communicate clearly and have at least a reasonable level of intelligence. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I'm in my bedroom with the housephone. I got pen and paper jus need calculator. I not so bad at maths, got a B at gcse and just graduated in psychology which had loads of stats in it.

Applied for the in-branch sales representative job.

Well it only lasted 25 mins which I dunno whether thats a good or bad thing. It went pretty badly. It focussed a lot on sales and convincing people and I couldn't think fast enough so I don't think the situations I gave were very good. She said I'll find out in 2-3 days.

ps: she kept putting me off cos she was typing up notes on what I was saying so all I could hear was "tap tap tap". At least I know what to expect on a phone interview now.:A I love MSE!!! :A0 -
Oh am sure you will have done fine. Its always hard doing phone interviews as you dont know who you are talking to.
Hope you get the job!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
It is always bad when they do that given that they could easily enough record it and then play it back later. In one I had there was frequent 5 minutes of silence as she wrote up the notes and she was clearly reading from a script because I would give a "complete" answer to what was obviously part A of a larger question but she still insisted on asking parts B, C & D even though I had already answered them.
25 minutes is about the right length for a telephone interview so fingers crossed for when you hear backAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
