Unfortunately it can be. MBNA sent ours all over the place, and not once did we get any notification from MBNA as to them assigning it to someone else. Just a nasty letter from the DCA. I have noticed, however, that this seems to be common practice with a lot of companies. We have 8 or 9 debts that we are sorting through, however, not ONE has had the decency to send us some type of notification when the account gets sent elsewhere. Personally, I think they feel that keeping us on the wrong foot makes us more vulnerable and more likely to pay simply to end the hassle.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

If you haven't yet seen it, you might find saltnviengars first post on this thread very comforting.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2673537I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.
