Not good reviews i'm afriad. Keeps crashing apparently.0 -
Yup, also read awful reviews for these. A salesman at Comet said avoid like the plague!0

I purchased one of these about 6 months ago - went through 3 of them before the shop swapped it for a panasonic then no problems.
I've had to purchase multiple Freeview boxes for my work and when speaking to some indepentent retailers/suppliers they say avoid the Philips freeview box like the plague. Apparently the industry average is 1 in 10 freeview boxes are prone to failure/bugs within first 12 months but the philps average is higher than this.
:rotfl:Me i'm always after a good deal.. :rotfl:0 -
I've bought three of these sods. The main problem is that it will just jam and not switch between channels. The only way to fix it is to unplug and try again.
I bought them because they were one of the few boxes with digital co-ax output. Had I known how much of a pain they would be then I probably wouldn't have bothered.
However, the picture quality (once established) is excellent. Absurdly - once it has 'latched-on' to a channel then it very rarely pixellates or freezes. It's only when navigating that the real problems occur

I am curious about these problems I have a Philips 320 freeview box, Philips sent it to me for free when I complained that my 5 year old Digital TV still couldn't access teletext or other interactive services, Had the box about 12 months it set up a treat and I'm using it in a bedroom from a loft aerial! (so much for the much suggested aerial upgrade) and its only "frozen" once. Maybe I'm just fortunate0

I have 2 of these and not had any problems.0
