  • Ok. This is the size of your Virtual Memory. Windows uses this before to "better" (load of crap) manage itself.

    The general rule of thumb for this is RAM x 1.5 which in your case is 512MB x 1.5 = 768MB.

    If you look close to the bottom, it should say the recommended setting is 768 or 770mb or something close to that.

    Do the following, in both the Initial Size and Maximum size put 768, click ok all the way out, it will tell you to reboot and that should be that as far as basic memory tuning goes.

    my husband says our pc is also running extremely slow ..I have done above ..how do I know what is useless and what is required in order for my pc to run faster ? there must be a lot of things running that are not required ? how do i find out what they are ? ?
