Thanks for writing this. I've just defaulted on a credit card, and three loans.
Up to now, I've only had a phone call about the credit card off someone in Mumbai which was yesterday, then today someone tried to phone my mobile about the same thing.
If I didn't have any money yesterday, I certainly don't have today, so the next time they ring, I will be telling them to put it in writing.
Should I ignore them when they ask me to go through security? I felt a bit awkward when asked to do this especially on a sunday and from someone outside this country,

Tell them you will only communicate in writing, and tf they persist in phoning, send the Telephone Harassment letter

Today I've had two missed calls from Lloyds Tsb on my mobile and also one at 8am this morning on the landline. Boy they start early.
I have now wrote a letter asking if they will take token payments for now until I get a job, and freeze interest and late payment charges.
Not sure that will work, but they can't get blood out of a stone if I haven't got it. I have Lloyds Tsb address for the loan department, but who should I address it to, collections etc?
Then I will have to do one for MBNA Virgin, not looking forward to that as I have heard they are even worse for pestering people.
My total outgoings for 3 loans and 2 credit cards are £446 a month, but I can only offer them £5 each which I am sure they will snub that offer.
To be honest, I can't see me offering anything more than that as I just do Ebay for income and already owe the Inland Revenue money for tax.
All the money I earn has to go to the mortgage and bills like council tax etc. But all my loans are unsecured so hopefully they will agree to reduced payments until I get a day job.
It's making me feel sick as this is the first month I have ever missed paying any of them and worried about all the phone calls.
How long is it before they pass you onto a debt collector?

That may depend on how sadistic they are. :p

Just had a call from HSBC asking me where the mortgage payment is. I had actually paid early by 5 days and they rang me thinking I had missed it.
