There are plenty of people who don't want to ALWAYS have an alcoholic beverage. There are plenty of alcoholics in this country and I know that they find it very challenging to socialise in a pub but would still like to spend time with their friends but NOY APPEAR to be avoiding alcohol - otherwise people might ask why and then they'd have to decide whether to explain the alcoholism or lie. So blending in with a non-alcoholic beer is a good idea. It's clear from some of the comments above that this is not an easy option for people. Let me make my point clear - there are not as many pubs and clubs that offer a low-alcohol or non-alcohol beer and I think that this should change. So the more manufacturers like Cobra (and Becks) that create non-alcohol versions fo their beers, the better. Sure people could order water, but my point is that many male alcoholics would rather blend in that have it made really obvious by being the only man drinking water or juice. It's always a great shame to see the personality of a friend who has an alcohol dependency change when they've had a few drinks, and I would rather know that a pub or club we were going to had plenty of non/low alcohol options anyway. Very few nightclubs even serve food or snacks nowadays.
